You had me, and then you lost me - Am I Penny or the reader of this book?

The Ugly Truth:

While I enjoyed the first stint of this duet, I cannot say I felt the same fire to finish this second book.

Rafe and Penny were not the same - It felt like I was reading a totally different romance. I will say, in the first 20% of the book, I was allllll over yearning, lover-boy Rafe. There were a few iconic scenes that will play over my head and my heart for years to come (hello, credit card being pulled out), but for the most part, I felt that this book lost a lot of plot and focused entirely on the heady and heavy petting.

Do not get me wrong, this is marketed as such, and, being real, I waited basically a whole 400 pages for them to finally jump into bed together, yet it felt rushed and was not the scene I had been waiting for. On top of that, development for both characters just ceased to exist. It made me think that perhaps the duet was not planned, but the realization that it would either be on really long book or two medium ones hit the author and made them reorganize planning with a lot of filler scenes.

What I will say is the little snippets of Gabe and Wren ACTUALLY got me so freakin hyped. I love a good girl, psycho boy moment. SO, for them, and them alone, I enjoyed this enough.
