The Ugly Truth:

Okay, I have a warning above - one that, I think, should be strictly followed - because I think it makes the reveal in this book SO much better.

Here is another review I will keep short, simply to not spoil all the best parts, but what you need to know is if you are looking to get into science fiction, or want something new to read that brings to life a whole new area of thought, this is the book for you.

The Kaiju Preservation Society blends the perfect amount of reality, history, and fiction to paint a world that makes you question what we know of our own. The characters, especially our lead, Jamie Gray, were so colorfully brought to life and created with such care that you felt friendship, betrayal, and joy through each page turn. The plot was quick-paced, despite the matter-of-fact dialogue and approach taken by most of the individuals in the story, making this one of the easier sci-fi novels to digest.

I think, if I could truly draw a complaint from anywhere, it would be about how fast this book went. I wanted so many more chapters getting to know so much more about everything and everyone. There was so much more I wished to see, which, in a way, is exactly the way the book, and KPS, is supposed to make you feel. It is in the unknown that life is lived and created.
